Three Parts of Your Car You Need to Check to Prep for Winter Driving

The 2017 calendar is down to just a couple of pages, and we are well into the month of November around here in the Lumberton area. With winter fast approaching, and dangerous driving conditions just around the corner, we here at Lucas Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram would like to take this opportunity to remind you not to take any chances with your, or your family's, safety this winter.

Make sure your car, truck, or SUV is up to snuff before the roads get slick.

While all of your vehicle's parts are important, and all of them need to work well in order to make your driving experience fun and safe, there are several key parts that the service center techs here at Lucas Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram would like to remind you to check before embarking on any winter driving trips.

  1. Brakes. Perhaps no other parts of your vehicle are quite as important to your safety as your brakes. Before you go anywhere in slippery conditions this winter, make sure your brakes are inspected and in good shape, so that they can do their job and protect you if you need to brake suddenly.
  2. Tires. Your tires are another piece of your vehicle that are of the utmost importance. Making sure your tires aren't worn or bald, and have good traction to drive through snow and rain, is also key to keeping you safe this winter.
  3. Heat and defrost. Winter driving is no fun when your vehicle's heat is on the fritz, and it's downright dangerous if the defrost can't do its job and keep your windows clear. Make sure both are in good working order before the snow flies this winter.

The service center technicians here at Lucas Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram are here for you Monday through Saturday, and they can inspect and repair all of these parts and more. Book your service appointment soon and make sure your vehicle is ready for the weather and road conditions this winter has in store.
